When documenting wildlife I’ll often use my drone to help scout (without disturbing the animals), then it’s most likely a telephoto I’ll go for. Always shooting in RAW and 4K helps me make the relevant crops in post whilst keeping imagery sharp and I spend a long time researching the species before heading into their environment. Learning their seasonal behaviours helps ensure you know where to be and when. Anticipation and patience are essential. The videos below are a brief toe dip into how I work.
